Sunset Savanna Lion Family With Two Cubs
Coloring guide
A male lion with a full, flowing mane stands tall next to a smiling lioness, and two little cubs pose happily in front of them. The lioness tilts her head toward the male, and both cubs look out with bright eyes and open, cheerful faces. A big round sun sits low on the horizon behind them, with birds crossing the sky and soft clouds drifting by. Flat-topped acacia trees, rolling bushes and tufts of grass fill the savanna, with rocks and leafy plants in the foreground. The long, swirly strands of the mane are a fun challenge for older kids, while the large shapes of the lioness and cubs are easy for small hands. Golden yellow and warm orange work for the fur, deeper brown for the mane, and sunset red or pink for the sky. Save it as a free PDF for your growing collection. - 2Color the lion, the lioness, and both cubs in golden orange, keeping the cub muzzles cream and the lion muzzle pale gold.
- 3Fill the lion's mane with chestnut brown and the darker shadows with dark brown, then color the tail tip dark brown.
- 4Color the savanna trees, bushes, and grass in grass green and lime green, and the foreground ground in light brown and tan brown.
- 5Leave the clouds and the eye whites white, and add small details like the paws and the cubs' ears in pale gold.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along one side of the lion family to make them look rounder.
