Tennis Gear Laid Out on a Park Bench
Coloring guide
Everything needed for a match sits on a wooden slatted bench: a baseball-style cap, a short-sleeved shirt with contrast trim on the collar and sleeves, and shorts with a drawstring and side panels. A pair of lace-up sneakers rests on the front of the seat, and a racket leans on the backrest beside a ball. Behind the bench you'll spot a chain-link fence, a few puffy bushes and small tufts of grass along the bottom. Bold outlines and roomy shapes make it a good choice for kids who love coloring clothes and patterns. Go with yellow-green for the ball, then choose a favorite team color so the shirt and cap match. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the wooden bench planks and the front of the bench with warm brown, leaving small gaps between the planks.
- 2Color the bench legs, the fence posts and the top bar of the fence in light gray, then add a little charcoal gray under the bench edge for shadow.
- 3Color the baseball cap, the shorts and the shoe side panels in bright blue, keeping the t-shirt, shoe uppers and laces white.
- 4Color the tennis racket frame in golden yellow, the handle grip in bright blue, and the tennis ball in lime green.
- 5Color the bush at the top left in grass green and leave the fence mesh and the t-shirt white.
- 6Optional: add light shading with a slightly darker blue on the shorts and cap, and a touch of darker brown on the bench planks, to give the drawing more depth.
