Three round, fluffy chicks are having a great time in a puddle, and all of them are smiling. The top one hops with wings spread wide and one foot kicked up, while the two below flap and stomp in the water. Droplets fly every which way and ripple lines circle their feet. There are small mud patches on the feathers and legs, a few more floating on the water, and a pair of rubber rain boots at the lower right edge of the puddle. Grass tufts frame both sides. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the muddy puddle and the splashes around the chicks in mud brown, leaving a few small spots white for shine.
- 2Fill the bodies and wings of all three chicks with lemon yellow, keeping the eye whites and eye shines white.
- 3Color the two rubber boots in bright blue, then add pale blue to the boot cuffs.
- 4Color the beaks and feet of the chicks in bright orange, and the legs of the left chick in burnt orange.
- 5Add pale blue water droplets and splashes above the puddle and around the chicks.
- 6Optional: add a little darker yellow shading under the wings and bodies for depth.
