Coloring guide
Three children stand in wide, low stances on a grassy lawn. Each has one palm raised and the other hand held flat in front, as if moving slowly through a tai chi or kung fu form. They wear matching jackets with traditional knot-button fastenings, loose pants and flat shoes. A girl with a ponytail is on the left, a boy with short tousled hair is front and center, and a boy with curly hair is on the right. Behind them are a few puffy-leaved trees, a rounded hedge, and a pond with lily pads at the right edge, with small grass tufts across the ground. With big uniforms and lots of open lawn, it's a nice free printable for kids who like filling large areas. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red outfit of the boy in front: color his jacket, pant legs and sleeves with tomato red, leaving the cuffs for later.
- 2Color the two other children's outfits: the girl's jacket and pants in soft pink, and the right boy's jacket and pants in bright blue.
- 3Fill the trees and bushes with leaf green, then the tree trunks with warm brown, and the lawn and pond bank with lime green.
- 4Paint the faces, necks, ears and raised hands with light peach, keeping the eye whites white.
- 5Add the hair: chestnut brown for the boy and the girl, and orange for the curly hair of the right boy.
- 6Optional: Finish with dark red on the cuffs and sleeve edges, and leave the shoes and the small cloud at the top right white.
