Three Waving Apple Friends in the Grass

Coloring guide
Three smiling apple characters stand side by side: a big one in the middle with a leafy stem, a medium one on the left and a small one on the right. They all have round sparkly eyes, wide open smiles, circle cheeks, tiny stick legs with chunky shoes and little hands lifted in a wave. The big apple stretches both arms high, while the smaller two hold their arms out to the sides. Grass tufts run along the bottom, and the background is empty, so kids can draw their own sky or sun. Large shapes and thick outlines suit preschoolers and early learners. Try red for the big apple, bright green for the middle one and yellow for the smallest, so each member of the family looks different. Download it as a free PDF for an easy afternoon activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big apple in tomato red, filling its body, both arms and both legs, and leave the eye whites and background white.
- 2Color all the leaves in leaf green and all the stems in chocolate brown.
- 3Fill the left small apple, including its arms and legs, in lime green, and fill the right small apple, including its arms and legs, in golden yellow.
- 4Color the shoes: sky blue for the big apple, golden yellow for the left small apple, and hot pink for the right small apple.
- 5Add the rosy cheeks in light pink and the smiles in coral pink, keeping the eye whites and little eye shines white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along one side of each apple to make them look rounder.
