Bearded Hippie with a Calendar Meets Tom and Jerry
Coloring guide
In the middle stands a tall bearded man in a headband, holding up a wall calendar with one date circled. His eyes are closed, and he has a long mustache and beard, a peace sign medallion, a short-sleeved vest, long pants and sandals. Tom is on the left and Jerry on the right, both looking up at him with wide, worried eyes. They look pretty beat up, with patches and bandages on their fur. The background is simple: wavy lines in the sky, a rounded bush behind the man and small grass tufts along the ground. Little hands can manage the large shapes of his clothes and the calendar, and older kids get detail work in the patches on the cat and mouse. A rainbow of colors on the headband and peace sign, with soft grays and blues for Tom and Jerry, would be fun. Save it as a free PDF and keep extra copies nearby. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big grass areas on the left and right and the bushes in the background using grass green, leaving the lawn strip near the bottom right white.
- 2Fill the sky streaks at the top corners with light sky blue, then color the jeans in denim blue.
- 3Color the cat's fur, ears, and tail in bright orange and tangerine, keeping the belly area of the cat in pale yellow.
- 4Add peach beige to the faces, hands, and feet, then use chocolate brown for the vest and rust orange and brick red for the headband and calendar top balls.
- 5Finish with tan brown on the calendar grid squares and the hand holding it, leaving the calendar window circle and the calendar border white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the shadows under the cat and the vest folds for depth.
