Surprised Tom at the Glass Door, Tom and Jerry Action

Tom is up on tiptoe next to a glass door, one hand flat on the pane and his mouth open in a surprised little "oh." On the other side, Jerry the mouse bounces with his eyes squeezed shut, arms flung out and a small exclamation mark over his head. A scalloped burst shape around him makes it look like the door just took a big thump, and curved motion lines near the door and Tom's hand show the shaking. Look for the round doorknob on the left, wooden floorboards along the bottom and a framed mountain picture on the wall behind Tom. Kids who love comic-style action will enjoy this one. Warm gray for Tom, light brown for Jerry and pale blue on the glass will help the burst stand out. The PDF is free and prints at home with no sign-up. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the window glass and the wall panes with sky blue, leaving the bright white light streaks along the glass untouched.
- 2Fill Tom's body, arm, leg and head with slate gray, keeping his white muzzle, hands, paws and feet white.
- 3Color the door frames, the wood floor and Jerry's body with warm brown, and add light tan to Jerry's belly.
- 4Paint the splash burst behind Jerry and the door knob with golden yellow, and use cream yellow for the lower wall area.
- 5Add coral pink inside Tom's ear and Jerry's ears, then color the green curtain with sage green and the picture hills with leafy green.
- 6Optional: Add light gray shading along Tom's belly and under his arm for a bit of depth, and leave the eye whites and highlights white.
