A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big orange areas: fill Tom's head, body, arms, legs and tail with warm orange, leaving the thin black lines untouched.
- 2Color the backpack in sky blue, covering both the main part and the top flap, and keep the straps and edges white.
- 3Fill the inside of both ears with soft pink so they stand out against the orange head.
- 4Use pale cream for the belly, the paws, the hands, the feet and the tip of the tail, keeping the lighter areas bright.
- 5Color the open mouth and the nose: use light gray for the mouth and fill the nose and chin with pale cream to finish the face.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of warm orange along the shadow sides of the arms and legs to give the drawing more depth.
