Trick-or-Treating Ghost Kid With a Halloween Candy Bucket

Standing front and center is a child dressed in a plain white sheet ghost costume, holding a jack-o'-lantern trick-or-treat bucket in both hands. Big round eyes look out from the sheet and sneakers peek out at the bottom. The pumpkin bucket has a happy carved face with squinty eyes and a wide grin, and it's heaped with wrapped candies and a swirly lollipop. Behind the ghost are a picket fence, grassy bushes and tufts of grass, plus a crescent moon and three stars overhead. The big open areas of the sheet are easy for small hands, while the candies and fence give a little extra practice. Bright orange for the pumpkin and a rainbow of colors for the candies would be fun. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the pumpkin bucket and both shoe heels with pumpkin orange, leaving the shoe toes and soles white.
- 2Fill the fence boards and the two fence rails with warm brown, keeping the small gaps between the boards white.
- 3Color the three stars in golden yellow, then add sky blue to the blue candy in the bucket.
- 4Add violet purple and orchid pink to the wrapped candies peeking out of the bucket, leaving the white wrappers as they are.
- 5Fill the pumpkin mouth with jet black, leaving the jagged teeth white. Keep the ghost, gloves, and eyes white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker orange along the pumpkin's edges and a few light brown strokes on the fence to give depth.
