Tricorn Pirate Hat, Sword and Eye Patch

Coloring guide
At the top of the page is a big tricorn hat with a smiling skull and crossbones in the middle and curved fold lines along the brim. Below on the left is a short, straight-bladed sword with a chunky guard and a striped handle ending in a round pommel. On the right, an eye patch has a loop of string curving around behind it. Simple shapes, thick outlines and an empty background keep things easy to follow, so it's a good free printable for younger kids still learning to stay inside the lines. Black or dark navy suits the hat, gray or silver the blade, and bright red or gold the handle stripes. The skull can stay white or get a pale cream tint. It also makes a nice little warm-up before a pirate-themed party or story time. Kids who like Pirate coloring pages usually enjoy Unicorns and Dragons too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big hat body: fill the whole tricorn hat with charcoal gray, working around the skull and crossbones.
- 2Color the sword blade with light gray, leaving the thin diagonal lines white to suggest shine.
- 3Fill the eye patch with charcoal gray, keeping the strap loop white.
- 4Color the hat brim edge, the sword guard and the round pommel with golden yellow.
- 5Add warm brown to the sword grip wraps and the short tips on the eye patch strap, leaving the long strap loop white.
- 6Optional: Add a few gentle back-and-forth strokes of a darker gray on the hat and blade to give them some texture, and keep the skull, crossbones and strap white.
