Baby Bee Watched by Two Bees in Honeycomb

Coloring guide
Two big-eyed cartoon bees lean in from the left and right to look at a tiny baby bee sitting inside a hexagon honeycomb cell. The baby has little antennae and a happy open-mouth smile, with both hands on the edge of the cell. The grown-up bees have striped bodies, rounded wings, curly eyelashes and cheerful faces. More honeycomb hexagons fill the space around them, along with four flowers with round centers in the corners, a leaf or two and several hearts floating behind. Large shapes and clean lines make this a good choice for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Golden yellow suits the stripes and honeycomb, and soft pink and purple would be pretty on the flowers and hearts. Print it for classroom time or a rainy day. Love this Bee coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the bee bodies and heads: color all the round bee heads and body parts bright yellow, leaving the big eye whites untouched.
- 2Fill the honeycomb cells with honey orange, and color the baby bee's wings pale aqua.
- 3Color both big wings sky blue, and fill the hearts and the bottom and top flowers with cherry red, rose pink and lavender purple as shown.
- 4Add the black and dark stripes on the bee bodies with charcoal black and dark brown, and color the leaves leaf green.
- 5Color the flower centers and antenna tips bright yellow, and use amber brown for the lowest stripes on the bees.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color near the edges, and leave the eye whites and background white for a sparkly finish.
