Three Baby Bees in Honeycomb Cells

Coloring guide
Three smiling cartoon bees poke their heads out of separate honeycomb cells on this page. The one at upper left wears a little flower on its head and has long lashes. The bee on the right has a bow tie and waves a hand. A smaller bee at the bottom pops out of its cell with a big grin. All three have round antennae, tiny wings and striped bodies, and they rest their hands on the cell edges. Empty hexagons around them form a large honeycomb pattern, and flowers with leaves fill all four corners. Small hands can fill in the big hexagons easily, while the faces give older kids more detail to work on. Golden yellow cells and soft pink flowers would help the bees stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the large honeycomb cells with golden yellow, leaving the cells behind the three bees for amber orange and tangerine orange.
- 2Color the bee heads, bodies, antennas and little feet with buttery yellow, adding golden yellow to the antenna tips and stripes.
- 3Paint the wings sky blue and the flower petals bubblegum pink, then fill the flower centers with golden yellow and the leaves with leaf green.
- 4Add a bright blue bow tie to the right bee, and keep the small white flowers and the bees' eye whites untouched.
- 5Optional: add a slightly darker tangerine orange shadow under the bees and a little extra sky blue on the wing edges for depth.
