Signing Friends on the Playroom Rug (Diversity & Inclusion)

Coloring guide
A boy and a girl sit cross-legged on a round rug, facing each other and talking with their hands. The boy has short tousled hair and points a finger near his chin. The girl, in a high ponytail and overalls, holds up one hand with her thumb and fingers spread. They're both smiling. A sunny window with clouds, a framed heart picture, a potted plant and a bookshelf with a few books are behind them. A teddy bear with a bow tie sits at the lower left, and a house-shaped block, a cube and a cylinder are stacked at the lower right. It starts easy conversations about communication and friendship. A warm golden brown teddy and a bright red heart in the frame would look sweet. Save it as a free PDF, and print a few spare copies since there's plenty of room to color. - peach skin
- caramel brown
- chestnut brown
- tangerine orange
- raspberry pink
- light blue
- navy blue
- sky blue
- leaf green

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the faces, hands, arms and legs with peach skin, leaving the eye shines and the small highlight on the girl's cheek and finger white.
- 2Color the rug and the floor around it with pale yellow, then fill the window sky with light blue and the wall background stays white.
- 3Color the boy's hair with chestnut brown and the girl's ponytail and hair with tangerine orange, adding the sun in golden yellow.
- 4Fill the boy's shirt with sky blue and his jeans with navy blue, then color the girl's overalls and shoes in raspberry pink, with her pale pink top showing under them.
- 5Add the grass and clouds in leaf green, the teddy bear in caramel brown with a bright red bow, and the blocks in bright red, royal blue, leaf green and golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading on the shirts and rug edges with a slightly darker shade of the same color for more depth.
