Two Cloud Buddies Share the Gold: Rainbow & Pot of Gold (St. Patrick's)

Two happy little clouds sit at either end of a big rainbow, each with round eyes, rosy cheek marks and an open smile. The rainbow has five wide, curved bands, so kids get lots of room to practice coloring inside the lines. Under the right-hand cloud, four round coins tumble down with little motion lines, as if the rainbow were dropping a shower of gold. The background is plain white, so the only things to color are the clouds, the rainbow and the coins. That makes it a good choice for younger kids or a quick St. Patrick's Day activity. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the outer rainbow arc tomato red, then fill the next band inward with orange.
- 2Fill the following rainbow band with bright yellow, then the next one with leaf green, and finish the innermost band with bright blue.
- 3Color both clouds pale blue, leaving the eyes and their little shine spots white.
- 4Color the two smiles hot pink so they stand out on the clouds.
- 5Fill the falling coins: bright yellow for the top, lower-left and bottom coins, and golden yellow for the middle coin.
- 6Optional: Add a few light strokes of a slightly darker blue on the clouds' edges and a soft golden shade on the coins for depth.
