A smiling boy and girl ride on the shell of a big, happy turtle as it wades through a pond. The boy has short tousled hair and wears a T-shirt with shorts, and the girl has a high ponytail and overalls. Both lean forward and hold on to the shell. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the turtle's body and legs by coloring the turtle front body, front legs, back legs and feet in lime green, leaving the eye whites and the golden yellow feet for later.
- 2Color the shell in caramel brown and chestnut brown, working from the top of the shell down to its edges, and fill the belly area in pale yellow.
- 3Fill the pond water in light blue and the bushes and grass in leaf green, leaving the background sky white.
- 4Color the kids' skin in peach skin, the boy's shirt and shirt sleeve in red, the girl's shirt in pink, and the overalls and shorts in bright blue.
- 5Use gray for the water spout, then add golden yellow to the ducks and their orange beaks.
- 6Optional: Add darker green spots on the front legs and a little coral pink for the turtle's tongue, and leave the eye whites, the girl's hair highlights and the boy's white sneakers unpainted.
