Two Lizards Sharing a Desert Rock, Reptiles Coloring Page

Coloring guide
Two cartoon lizards with big friendly eyes and spotted skin share a flat, cracked rock right in the middle of a desert scene. The one in front crouches low with its mouth open in a happy grin, and its long striped tail curls up behind it. The other sits upright a bit farther back, smiling and looking over at its friend. Tall saguaro cacti stand on both sides, and round prickly cacti with blooming flowers fill the corners. In the distance, rocky mesas and hills rise under puffy clouds and a bright sun with long rays. Small pebbles, spiky desert plants, and more flowers decorate the foreground. Soft greens and teals would look good on the lizards, with a few orange or yellow spots on their backs, and pink or magenta cactus blossoms will stand out against the green. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- light apricot
- cactus green
- terracotta
- very light blue
- light lime
- warm tan
- pale yellow
- golden yellow
- grass green
- hot pink
- sky blue
- amber
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sandy ground and big rock ledges: fill them with light apricot, and use terracotta for the rock cliffs and the red mesa in the background.
- 2Color the sky and clouds next: sky blue for the upper left corner, and very light blue for the puffy clouds. Leave the sun white.
- 3Fill the cacti in cactus green for the tall saguaros and small barrel cacti, and use grass green for the bushes and the cactus tops.
- 4Color the left lizard in lime green on its body, tail and legs, then add light lime on its belly spots and feet. Keep the smile area white.
- 5Paint the right lizard in golden yellow on its head, amber on its body and tail, and bright orange on its back leg. Leave both eye whites white.
- 6Finish with hot pink for the cactus flowers and olive green for the agave plants. Optional: add a little darker terracotta along the rock edges for depth.
