Sandcastle Day at the Beach With Puppy Dog Pals
Coloring guide
One puppy stands with a little bucket in its mouth, and a smaller puppy sits next to a sandcastle, patting the top of a tower. The castle has a small arched doorway, a tiny flag on top and two shorter turrets at the front. You'll also find a striped beach ball, a starfish with dotted arms and small pebbles across the sand. Gentle waves roll in behind the pups under a puffy cloud and a big sun with long rays. Both dogs have collars and floppy ears, so there are plenty of fur and fabric details to color. Bold outlines and open shapes are a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Golden yellow works for the sandcastle, and a red and blue pattern would suit the beach ball. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the sea and waves with ocean blue, and color the far band of water near the horizon with pale sky blue, leaving the cloud white.
- 2Color the sandcastles, the sand around them, and the sand patches on the beach with sand yellow.
- 3Color the golden puppy with amber orange, its tail and ears included, and fill the light puppy with cream, leaving the white stripes and eye whites untouched.
- 4Color the bucket with royal blue, the collars and flag with bright red, and the sun with sunny yellow.
- 5Color the beach ball with bright red and royal blue panels and a sunny yellow center, leaving the white stripes. Fill the starfish with tangerine orange, the hill with grass green, and the pebble with light gray.
- 6Optional: add light shading with a slightly darker shade of each color along the edges of the puppies and castles for depth.
