Tying Shoes in the Bedroom with Daniel Tiger

A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.

• tiger orange
• cornflower blue
• pale sky blue
• bright sky blue
• warm tan
• navy blue
• light sand
• chocolate brown
• tomato red
• mint green
• soft gold
• lemon yellow

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start with the big tiger head and body: fill the head and paws with tiger orange, leaving the eye whites and the pale inner ears white.
2. 2Color the hoodie, sleeves and pants with bright sky blue and cornflower blue, then add navy blue to the pants and the darker hoodie shading.
3. 3Fill the bed, pillow and curtains with pale sky blue, cornflower blue and mint green, and color the dresser and bed frame with warm tan and soft gold.
4. 4Paint both sneakers tomato red, keeping the soles and lace lines white so they stand out against the red.
5. 5Add chocolate brown stripes on the forehead, cheeks and tail, then use baby pink for the nose and tongue.
6. 6Optional: Add light sand to the floor and rug edges, and finish with golden yellow on the drawer knob and lemon yellow on the lamp.
