Thirsty Unicorns at a Lily Pad Pond

Bending down with its nose touching the surface, a gentle unicorn takes a drink from a quiet pond, and small ripples spread out around it. Big sparkly eyes, a spiral horn, pointed ears and long wavy lines for the mane and tail make up the unicorn itself. Around the water are round lily pads, a lotus-style flower in the front corner, tall cattails on both sides, small grass tufts, rocks along the bank and a leafy tree trunk in the upper right. Shapes are large and clear, which suits preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the bushes, grass, and lily pads in grass green, adding the lime green grass blades on the left and right.
- 2Fill the mane and tail with the rainbow strands: hot pink, light blue, golden yellow, and lavender purple, working from top to bottom.
- 3Color the forelock, face mane, and inner ears in light pink and lilac purple, and the horn in golden yellow.
- 4Paint the hooves and the back leg hooves in lavender purple, and the tree trunk and branch in brown.
- 5Color the pond water edge in sky blue, the cattails in brown, the rocks in light gray, and the lily flower in hot pink.
- 6Optional: Leave the unicorn body, face, legs, eye whites, and mane highlights white so it stays bright and sparkly.
