Thirsty Unicorn at the Pond with a Frog Friend
Coloring guide
A young unicorn leans down for a drink from a rippling pond. Its long wavy mane tumbles forward over the neck, and the small spiral horn shows between the ears. Big round eyes and a gentle face are easy for little ones to color. A spotted, smiling frog sits on a lily pad in the water and watches, with lily flowers and more round pads floating close by. Tall cattails, grassy tufts and a few simple daisy-style flowers line the bank on both sides. The wide mane and tail are split into lots of flowing sections, which gives kids practice staying inside the lines with different colors. Soft purples and pinks work for the mane and tail, and a bright green frog will stand out against blue water. This free page is a good one to save. Love this Unicorns coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the unicorn's mane and tail in bands of rainbow colors: start with sky blue and pale blue, then add lavender purple, lilac, butter yellow and rose, keeping the strands flowing.
- 2Fill the unicorn's ears, horn and face with pale beige, soft peach, apricot and butter yellow, leaving the eye shine and inner ear white.
- 3Paint the lily pads and grass with leaf green, forest green and sage green, and color the cattails in chestnut brown.
- 4Color the water lilies with baby pink and hot pink, then add the frog in lime green with a soft peach belly, leaving the flower centers and small white flowers unpainted.
- 5Optional: Add a little shading in the mane and frog with a slightly darker shade of the same color for depth.
- 6Finish with the horse's hooves and body details, and leave the body, background and white flowers white for a clean, bright look.
