Big Volleyball Resting by a Sandcastle and Seashell
Coloring guide
One large volleyball sits in the sand with ocean waves rolling behind it, and its curved panels leave kids lots of room to fill in. The stripes on the ball are bold and wide, so they're easy to color. Down in the lower left you'll find a small sandcastle with a doorway, little towers and a flag on top. The lower right has a scallop seashell with ridged lines, and a few tiny pebbles and dots are scattered over the sand. Four wavy lines across the top stand in for the sea. Yellow and blue panels look great on the ball, and soft tan for the sand with teal water helps it pop. This free printable PDF is worth saving a few extra copies of. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sea: fill the top wave and the deeper water areas on both sides with royal blue, and color the middle wave bands and the right wave with light sky blue.
- 2Fill the sand on the left, the right dune, and the sandcastle with soft sand yellow, then color the castle doorway chocolate brown.
- 3Color the volleyball: make the top-left panel and bottom panel golden yellow, the top-right panel bright sky blue, the right side royal blue, and the red stripes bright red. Leave the white panels white.
- 4Color the seashell coral pink, working from the center ridges outward, and fill the flag at the top with vivid orange red.
- 5Optional: Add a few light strokes of a slightly darker shade along the edges of the ball and shell to make them look rounder.
