Water-Spouting Sea Godzilla Near Little Sailboats

Up from the rolling waves rises a friendly long-necked sea creature, grinning with its mouth open and one big round eye. A fountain of water sprays from the top of its head and droplets drift down around it. Curved stripes mark the neck, and the body has a large ribbed, fin-like section with oval spots along the back. Splashes burst up on both sides. In the distance, two small sailboats float near the horizon, three birds glide across the sky and a tiny island with palm trees sits on the right. Bold outlines and roomy shapes make it a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big head and the sea water on both sides by coloring them sky blue, leaving the eye whites, sailboats, palm trees and seagulls white.
- 2Color the long neck bands and the sandy island with soft yellow, keeping the thin outlines between the bands clear.
- 3Fill the back shell panels with royal blue, then add the darker spots along the neck in ocean blue for a bit of contrast.
- 4Paint the water spouts, the splashes and the spray at the top and sides with pale blue and light aqua.
- 5Color the open mouth's tongue coral pink and the green hill and island bushes with leaf green.
- 6Optional: add a few small pale blue strokes on the water and neck to give the colors a soft, layered look.
