Waving American Flag on a Pole With Stars and Stripes

A large American flag ripples in the wind, attached to a slim pole with a round ball on top at the left. The blue field in the upper left corner is filled with small outlined stars, packed in staggered rows. Wavy stripes run across the rest of the flag, and the cloth folds and curls toward the right, with the stripes narrowing where the fabric turns. The bottom edge dips and flips up in a few spots, which gives the drawing a real sense of motion. The stripes are wide enough for crayons, while the stars are small enough that a fine-tip marker or sharp colored pencil works better. Try red and white for the stripes, blue for the star field, and a lighter or darker shade on the folded sections to show the shadows in the cloth. This free printable is a nice fit for Flag Day, Fourth of July, or a classroom lesson on national symbols.
