Waving American Flag on a Tilted Pole

Waving American Flag on a Tilted Pole coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A large American flag ripples in the wind, attached to a long slanted pole with a pointed spear-shaped tip at the top. The blue canton in the upper left is filled with small solid black stars arranged in staggered rows, and a few stars get cut off at the edges where the fabric curves. Wide stripes run across the flag and bend into deep folds toward the right, ending in a narrow, pointed tail at the lower right corner. The lines are bold and clean, so younger kids can stay inside them fairly easily. Try red and blue crayons for the stripes and canton, leaving the stars and every other stripe white. The folds also make a good chance to talk about shading, since the parts that turn away could be a slightly darker red. This free printable works well for Flag Day or a patriotic unit.
