Presidents' Day Waving Flag on a Pole With Clouds

Coloring guide
Most of this page is taken up by a rippling American flag hanging from a tall flagpole with a round ball at the top. The stars are tucked in the upper left corner, and the long stripes wave across the rest, so kids can trace the curves as they color. Three puffy clouds drift nearby, two up top and one in the lower right. Thick outlines and roomy shapes keep it easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it fits nicely into a Presidents' Day lesson or a patriotic craft table. A classic version has red and white stripes with a blue star corner, a light blue sky behind the clouds, and a gold or gray pole. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- sky blue
- bright red
- royal blue
- golden yellow
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the three clouds with sky blue, pressing lightly so the black outlines stay bold and clean.
- 2Fill the blue corner of the flag with royal blue, then leave the star shapes white so they pop.
- 3Color the four red stripes of the flag with bright red, skipping the white stripes between them.
- 4Fill the flagpole, its round top and the small band near the top with golden yellow.
- 5Keep the remaining flag stripes white so the flag looks crisp against the page.
- 6Optional: add a few light strokes of a darker shade in the blue corner and clouds for a bit of depth.
