Waving American Flag on Pole with Tassels

Coloring guide
A wavy American flag hangs from a tall slanted pole topped with a pointed spearhead finial. The upper left corner, called the canton, is packed with small outlined stars in uneven rows. Horizontal stripes run across the rest of the flag, and the cloth folds and curls at the right edge so you can see a second layer of stripes behind the front section. Two thin cords loop down from the top of the pole, cross each other, and end in tassels near the bottom. The lines are clean and open, which makes it a good fit for crayons or colored pencils. Try coloring the stripes in alternating red and white, then talk about why the stars and stripes are there. This printable page also works well for Flag Day or Fourth of July activities, and kids can pick their own colors for the cords and tassels.
