Waving Baby Penguin Standing on a Little Ice Floe

Coloring guide
This baby penguin is perched on a small chunk of ice with both flippers up high, like it's saying hello. The round head has a tiny tuft of feathers, big shiny eyes, a small triangle beak and an open smile with a tongue showing. You'll see a large oval belly outlined clearly, plus two webbed feet poking out at the bottom. Lines are thick and smooth and the spaces are roomy, so preschoolers and early elementary kids can color it without getting frustrated. Soft gray or deep navy works nicely for the back, head and flippers. Leave the belly and face white, or add a pale yellow glow. A light icy blue would suit the floe. It's a free printable that fits quiet afternoons, winter lessons or animal units at home or in class. More like this: explore the Penguin, Puppies and Cats coloring page collections.

- 2Fill the beak and both feet with golden orange for a bright pop of color.
- 3Color the ice floe's top surface with pale blue, then use sky blue on its edges and right corner.
- 4Color the open mouth crimson red and the tongue coral pink, keeping the small inner details simple.
- 5Leave the eye whites and the small shine spots white, then add black pupils to finish the eyes. Optional: add a little darker navy along the edges of the wings and head for depth.
