Rainy Day Blastoise Turtle Giving a Soggy Kitten a Ride
Coloring guide
A soggy little kitten, fur dripping, perches on the shell of a big smiling turtle as the two wander down a puddled village lane. The turtle looks up with wide, happy eyes. On its patterned shell sits a small cannon-like tube, which is why this page is filed with our Blastoise pages. Ripples and splashes circle its feet, and a few fallen leaves float on the water. In the background there are cottages with dormer windows, a flower box, blooming bushes, a low stone wall, a tall old-fashioned street lamp and puffy clouds overhead. Older kids get lots of detail to work on, while little ones get big open areas. Soft blue-gray works well for the puddles, and a warm orange tabby coat helps the kitten stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the turtle's body and legs in light green, leaving the big round eye shine white.
- 2Fill the shell plates in chocolate brown for the middle and sides, and use amber orange for the shell rim and strap.
- 3Color the belly and neck area in soft yellow, and paint the kitten's fluffy body in cream white.
- 4Add the leafy bushes and trees in leaf green, and the house roofs and walls in coral orange and pale butter yellow.
- 5Color the puddles and the splashes in sky blue, and the cobblestone ground and wall stones in light gray.
- 6Optional: Finish with a few small details like the pink ears on the kitten and the sand beige cobbles for extra texture.
