Whole Watermelon With Two Juicy Slices to Color

Coloring guide

A large oval watermelon fills most of the page, covered in wavy stripes that curve from the stem end toward the opposite side. A small curled stem sits on the left, with a thin leaf-like tab hanging down beside it. In front of the melon, two triangle-shaped slices rest side by side. Each slice has a thick rind edge with an inner line for the white layer, and a handful of small oval seeds scattered across the flesh. The wide stripes and open areas are easy for small hands to fill in. Try alternating dark and light greens on the stripes, then use red or pink for the slices with black seeds and a pale rind border. This free printable also works well for a quick lesson on whole fruit versus slices, or for talking about where seeds are found.
