Wizard Troll Waving a Star Wand Beside a Spellbook

Wearing a floppy wizard hat covered in stars, this big-nosed, pointy-eared troll waves a star-tipped wand in one raised hand while the other hand reaches out in a friendly welcome. Sparkling stars and little hearts float up from the wand. The long, wide-sleeved robe is dotted with stars and closed with a star-shaped clasp at the collar. Bare feet peek out below, and beside them on the ground sits a closed spellbook with a star on the cover and a ribbon bookmark. Younger kids can handle the big shapes and clear outlines, and older ones can take on all the small stars. Deep purple or blue for the hat and robe, then bright yellow for the stars, wand and sparkles, will make the magic shine. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the troll's face, hands, feet and ears with skin peach, and fill the tongue with salmon pink. Leave the eye whites white.
- 2Fill the wizard hat, the robe and the sleeves with royal blue, using navy blue for the hat's left point, the underside of the brim and the left sleeve cuff.
- 3Color the robe's lower front with sky blue, then add golden yellow to the hat brim, the collar, the robe front stripe, the sleeve trims and all the stars on the hat and robe.
- 4Color the hair with brown, along with the wand handle, then fill the spellbook cover and bookmark with brick red and the pages with cream.
- 5Color the hearts with coral red and the sparkle stars around the wand with golden yellow, leaving small white gaps for shine.
- 6Optional: add a little apricot shading to the collar center and a darker touch of navy blue along the edges of the robe for depth.
