Worried Groundhog Peeks Out Beside a Shivering Man

Coloring guide
A groundhog pokes its head and shoulders out of a round hole in the snow, looking up with a worried face. Beside its little mound stands a man in a pom-pom knit hat, a long fringed scarf, a buttoned jacket, mittens, and chunky boots. His cheeks and nose look chilly, and his breath comes out as a frosty cloud with icicles hanging from it. The ground is drawn as flat patches of snow with a hill rising behind the groundhog. The big open shapes of the hat, scarf, and breath cloud are easy for younger kids to color, while the fringe and icicles give older kids some detail work. Try pale blues and silvers for the icy breath, then bright stripes on the scarf and hat so the man stands out against the white snow. This free printable could also start a chat about Groundhog Day and what the groundhog might be thinking.
