A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Color the hood, robe, sleeves, and pants with cobalt blue, leaving the eye whites and background white.
2. 2Fill the face, hands, and the hairline with skin peach, then add coral pink to the open mouth, leaving the teeth white.
3. 3Color the hair dark brown, then fill both tree branches with light brown.
4. 4Color the bamboo stalks and leaves with leaf green, keeping the pale bamboo rings and leaf highlights white.
5. 5Color the belt and its knot with bright red, then fill the socks, shoe soles, and wrist cuffs with charcoal gray.
6. 6Optional: Add a little darker blue shading under the robe folds and along the pants to make the ninja pop.
