Young Scientists and a Bubbling Flask, Back to School Fun
Coloring guide
Two smiling kids in safety goggles and lab coats lean over a big bubbling flask. The boy with spiky hair rests a hand on his chin, and the girl with a long ponytail and striped shirt grins next to a microscope. The wooden table holds a rack of test tubes, a stack of books, a spiral notebook with a pencil, a magnifying glass and a small potted plant. Behind them, a hanging solar system mobile with the sun, a ringed planet and other planets floats near two space posters, a globe, a bookshelf and a trailing houseplant. Bright green or purple liquid in the flask will make it the star of the page. Download and print it free for an afternoon activity. Kids who like Back to School coloring pages usually enjoy New Year and Teacher Appreciation Day too.

- 2Color the flask liquid and the bubbles in turquoise and sky blue, keeping the bright bubble highlights white.
- 3Fill the skin areas with warm peach and pale peach, leaving the goggle lenses and eye whites white.
- 4Color the hair in chocolate brown and the red book, then add caramel brown to the microscope and the table edges.
- 5Add the blue microscope parts, navy posters, and green plants with lime green and sage green.
- 6Optional: Finish with small details like the pencil cup, shelf books and globe, adding a touch of golden yellow to the bubbles for sparkle.
