A little mouse in a buttoned jacket leads the parade, carrying a round paper lantern, while an ox beside it holds up a tall flag. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background: fill the river and pond with light blue, and the distant mountains with ocean blue. Leave the sky and the clouds white.
- 2Color the trees, bushes, and grass with forest green, grass green, and bright green, mixing a little teal on the leafy areas for variety.
- 3Fill the stone path, the bridges, and the rocks with light gray. Keep the blossom branches and the lantern cords white.
- 4Paint the animals: warm brown for the ox, tiger orange with stripes left white, cream white for the rabbit and the snake, and light gray for the mouse. Add blush pink to the mouse's inner ears.
- 5Add the red lanterns, the red flags, and the red dragon head, then finish the mouse's pants and the small details in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade on the path edges and under the bridge arch to make the scene feel more three-dimensional.
