Floating through the sky in a full space suit, a smiling banana waves with one gloved hand while its other arm reaches down by its side. It has a round glass helmet with ear pieces, a small backpack and a chest panel with buttons and a dial. Nearby are a ringed planet, a planet with wavy stripes, a cratered moon and Earth with its continents. On the right, a little rocket blasts off with flames, and lots of small stars fill the gaps. The big helmet and suit leave roomy spaces for kids to color. Bright yellow for the banana, a light blue tint on the helmet glass and silver or red on the suit make a good start. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the banana body and the stem with bright yellow, leaving the small highlight lines a little lighter, and fill the moon and star shapes with bright yellow too.
- 2Fill the helmet glass with light blue and the rim with a touch of sky blue, then leave the curved shine on the helmet white.
- 3Color the planets: make the top planet orange with amber yellow rings, and use green and teal for the striped planet and the Earth.
- 4Add sky blue to the wristbands, the chest panel, the ear pads, the backpack, the rocket window and the Earth oceans, and use bright red for the rocket tip and the smile.
- 5Color the rocket body light gray with bright red fins and pale yellow flames, and fill the moon with silver gray craters.
- 6Optional: Leave the eye whites, the suit and the waving hand white, and add a little dusty blue shading along the helmet edge for depth.
