Autumn Leaf Wreath for Thanksgiving with Pumpkins, Acorns and Bow

Overlapping fall leaves form a round wreath around an empty center, with maple and oak leaves in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Three ribbed pumpkins with curly stems sit at the upper left, the right side and the lower left. Acorns with textured caps are tucked in near the top, the left and the lower right, and a large ribbon bow with two long tails rests at the bottom. That open middle is a handy spot for a name, a Thanksgiving greeting or a short thank-you note. Orange with a touch of green works for the pumpkins, while red, gold and brown fit the maple and oak leaves. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the two big pumpkins, the lower left pumpkin and the top left pumpkin with pumpkin orange, leaving the thin lines and the little stems as they are.
- 2Fill the large maple leaves at the top and on the left and right with bright red, and the oak leaves at the top right and lower right with golden yellow.
- 3Color the bow loops, knot and tails with bright red, keeping the white shine spots on the bow as they are.
- 4Use leaf green and olive green for the smaller leaves around the wreath, and dark green for the little leaves tucked near the pumpkins and acorns.
- 5Fill the acorn caps and bodies with light brown, and add the chestnut brown stems where they meet the pumpkins.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the edges of the pumpkins and bow with a deeper shade of the same color for depth.
