Baby Chick Sitting Up with Wings Open for a Hug

A round, fluffy baby chick sits upright with its wings stretched out to each side, as if it is about to give someone a hug. It has a small tuft of feathers on top of its head, big glossy eyes with white highlights, and a tiny open beak with a smile line. Two large oval feet point toward the viewer at the bottom, and the wings have scalloped feather edges. The outlines are clean and thick, so the page works well for younger kids using crayons or chunky markers. Try coloring the chick in classic yellow, then use orange for the beak and feet and a lighter yellow on the wings so the feathers stand out. Teachers can also use this free printable for a spring or farm animal lesson on how chicks grow.
