Chubby Baby Chick with Open Beak Ready to Hug

A round, chubby baby chick sits upright with both wings stretched out to the sides, as if ready for a hug. It has a small tuft of feathers on top of its head, two big shiny eyes, and a wide open beak that looks like a happy smile. Tiny feather tufts stick out on each side of the head, and two big webbed feet point forward at the bottom. The outlines are thick and the shapes are large, so this one works well for preschoolers and kindergarteners who are still building pencil control. Try soft yellow for the body and orange for the beak and feet, then talk about which parts of the chick are feathers, wings, and feet. The printable page is free to download for home or classroom use.
