Baby Cow Nibbling Grass Among Daisies

This big-eyed calf has its head bent low to nibble a small tuft of grass, and a few blades are still poking out of its mouth. Look for two little horns, a fluffy curl of hair on the forehead, floppy ears and a long tail with a tufted end. The body has large irregular patches that small hands can fill in easily. Clumps of grass sit around the hooves, along with three daisy-style flowers with round centers, one on each side of the page. Bold lines and simple shapes make this free printable a good match for preschoolers and early elementary kids using crayons or chunky markers. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the brown spots on the cow's back, hip and hind leg with caramel brown, leaving the white patches of the body clear.
- 2Fill the tail tuft and both horns with vanilla cream, then color the inside of the ear with rose pink.
- 3Color the nose baby pink and the four hooves with charcoal gray, keeping the legs white.
- 4Color the leaves and grass tufts on the ground with leaf green, and the blade of grass in the cow's mouth with lime green. Add a few silver gray blades near the mouth.
- 5Color the centers of the daisies golden yellow and the stems and leaves with leaf green, leaving the petals white.
- 6Optional: add a little soft shading on the cow's belly and legs with a slightly darker tone of the same color, and keep the eye whites and cheek highlights white.
