This young giraffe reaches its long spotted neck toward a leafy branch and munches on a small bunch of leaves, looking pretty pleased about it. It has big round eyes, two knobby horns, one ear poking out, and a tufted tail swishing behind. The body is covered in large rounded spots that small hands can fill in easily. Up in the sky you'll find three puffy outline clouds, with a flat-topped tree canopy tucked into the top corner and little grass tufts along the bottom. Big shapes and clear lines make it a nice pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the giraffe's head, neck, body and legs with golden yellow, leaving the small white highlights on the legs untouched.
- 2Color the three fluffy clouds sky blue, staying inside the outlines.
- 3Fill the tree canopy at the top and the grass tufts at the bottom with leaf green, and color the acacia leaves the giraffe is nibbling with leaf green too.
- 4Add the orange brown patches all over the giraffe's body, neck and legs, and color the horns and the hanging leaf tips sienna brown.
- 5Color the mane along the neck, the tail tuft and the hooves dark chocolate brown. Optional: add a little darker shading under the belly and neck for depth.
