Baby Mermaid Hugging a Big Starfish
Coloring guide
Big sparkly eyes and short, wavy hair give this smiling little mermaid a sweet look as she hugs a large starfish dotted with tiny circles. She has a small starfish clip in her hair, and her scaly tail curls around with a wide, leaf-shaped fin on the right. At the bottom left, tall wavy seaweed grows from the seabed with a few round pebbles nearby. Bold lines and roomy shapes make this free printable a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids still building pencil control, while the tail scales give older children a fun challenge. Teal and purple would look lovely on the tail, and a bright orange starfish will stand out against her. Print it for a classroom center, a rainy day, or a quiet afternoon. Kids who like Mermaid coloring pages usually enjoy Unicorns and Dragons too.

- 3Color the big starfish golden yellow, dot its center with orange, and add lavender purple to the shoulders and the small fin under the starfish.
- 4Fill the mermaid tail fin with teal and the scales with sky blue, teal and seafoam green, mixing the colors for a fun pattern.
- 5Color the seaweed with leaf green and light green, and the rocks with warm gray, leaving the sand background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker teal along the bottom edges of the tail scales for a bit of depth.
