Peekaboo Raccoon in a Hollow Log

Coloring guide
A smiling baby raccoon pops its head out of a big hollow log, both little paws on the edge like it's playing peekaboo. It has large round eyes, pointed ears, fluffy cheek fur and the usual mask markings. Thick bark swirls around the opening in bold lines that small hands can follow easily. At the bottom left, a large spotted mushroom and a smaller one sit beside some grass tufts, and two leaves and a few pebbles are scattered near the log. Big shapes and clear outlines work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the page prints nicely as a free PDF. Warm browns look cozy on the log, soft gray and charcoal fit the fur and mask, and red caps will stand out on the mushrooms. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the raccoon's head, body and round pebbles with silver gray, then fill the paws with charcoal gray.
- 2Fill the brown ring of the hollow around the raccoon's head with chocolate brown, along with the log edges.
- 3Color the muzzle, chest, and mushroom stems with cream, and the inner ears with blush pink.
- 4Paint the mushroom caps bright red, the leaves and grass leaf green, and the small branch caramel brown.
- 5Color the tongue coral pink, and leave the eye whites and mushroom spots white so they stand out.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the raccoon's fur and the leaves for depth.
