Raccoon Mama and Babies Under the Moon

Coloring guide
A large mother raccoon with a gentle smile watches over three fluffy babies sitting in a row on a mossy mound. Their striped, ringed tails wrap around them, and every little face has its own sweet look. Tall evergreens and leafy bushes fill the night forest behind them, with a big crescent moon and small stars overhead. In the foreground there are small leafy plants, some rocks and two spotted mushrooms tucked into the corners. All that fur breaks into lots of little sections, so it's best for ages 5 and up who like detail. Deep blues and purples make a good night sky, soft grays and charcoal suit the raccoons, and warm yellow fits the moon and stars. Download and print it free, whatever your age. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the moon: color the crescent moon golden yellow and leave the small stars white.
- 2Fill the raccoon family with warm gray, including mama's head, ears, and the three babies, then add light gray to her chest fur.
- 3Color the coral pink inside the big ears, and keep the eye whites, nose area, and face highlights white.
- 4Use charcoal for the dark eye masks and the darker tail bands, leaving the bright eye whites untouched.
- 5Paint the pine trees with deep green and the bushes with grass green, then fill the mossy mound with lime green and the rocks with stone gray.
- 6Optional: Add a bit of bright red to the mushroom caps and leave the little leaves and tiny plants white for a fresh, airy look.
