A smiling baby zebra stands in a patch of grass, looking down at a butterfly that has landed right on the tip of its nose. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the grass and leaves in grass green, then add forest green on the darkest blades near the bottom.
- 2Fill the flower petals: violet for the left and bottom flowers, rose pink for the right flowers, and orange for the small flower at the bottom, leaving the flower centers for later.
- 3Color the butterfly wings with sky blue, rose pink, and peach, keeping the white spots and the white head.
- 4Color the zebra's stripes, mane, tail and hooves in charcoal gray, leaving the white fur, face and chest white. Use warm gray for the nose and baby pink for the inner ear.
- 5Add golden yellow to the right flower center, pale yellow to the left flower center, and a touch of lime green on the grass blade beside the front leg.
- 6Optional: Add light gray shading on the zebra's legs and under the belly to give it a bit of depth.
