Butterfly Landing on a Baby Zebra's Nose

Coloring guide
In a grassy meadow, a smiling baby zebra stands very still while a little butterfly rests on the tip of its nose. The zebra has big expressive eyes, long lashes, a tufted mane and a fluffy-tipped tail, and its bold stripes are fun to fill in. Large daisy-style flowers, tulips and small grass tufts surround its feet. Behind it you'll see rounded bushes and a gentle hill under a sun with long rays. Wide open spaces and chunky outlines keep this free printable easy for younger kids, while the stripes give older children some detail to focus on. Soft purple or pink suits the butterfly wings, red and yellow are good for the tulips, and the sun can be a sunny orange. Kids who like Zebra coloring pages usually enjoy Chicken and Shark too.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- grass green
- forest green
- charcoal gray
- golden yellow
- light gray
- baby pink
- rose pink
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sun and the flower centers in golden yellow.
- 2Fill the grass hills, the field and the small leaves with grass green, and the bushes at the sides with forest green.
- 3Color the tulips and the inside of both ears with rose pink and baby pink.
- 4Use light gray for the zebra's nose, then charcoal gray for the mane, the tail, the hooves and the dark stripes on the body.
- 5Leave the zebra's body, face, legs and the flower petals white so they stand out against the green.
- 6Optional: add a little darker green or gray along the edges of the grass and under the zebra to make it look grounded.
