Zebra and Giraffe Friends Under a Leafy Tree
Coloring guide
Two friends share the shade of a large leafy tree: a young zebra and a tall giraffe, looking at each other with big happy eyes and open smiles. The zebra tips its head up toward the giraffe and shows off a spiky mane, bold curved stripes and a tufted tail. The giraffe bends its long neck down, with two little horns, rounded ears and big patchy spots. Grass tufts, small bushes and three simple flowers fill the ground. The wide trunk and cloud-like branches give younger kids lots of room, and the stripes and spots keep older ones busy. Warm golden yellow and orange patches look good on the giraffe, while the zebra can stay classic black and white with bright flowers at its feet. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the giraffe's head, neck and body golden yellow, leaving the eye whites and the zebra's white areas untouched.
- 2Fill the giraffe's ears with peach and the inner ears with soft pink, then color the giraffe's hooves dark brown.
- 3Add brown to the giraffe's patches, and use amber for a few of the smaller spots on its legs and belly.
- 4Color the tree leaves leaf green and the grass and bushes grass green, keeping the tree trunk and background white.
- 5Color the zebra's mane, tail, hooves and stripes with black, dark gray and light gray, leaving its body white between the stripes. Optional: add light gray shading along the giraffe's neck and the tree branches for depth.
