Back to School Calendar Page: Kids Off the Bus Meeting Teacher
Coloring guide
Three children with backpacks head up a sidewalk toward a little schoolhouse, where a smiling teacher waves hello from the open doorway. The boy in front holds an apple, a girl in a skirt with a ponytail follows, and a second boy at the back looks ahead as he walks. A school bus is parked on the left. The schoolhouse has a bell tower with a bell, a round window and a few steps up to the door. Bushes sit beside the building, and a big tree on the right drops maple leaves onto the grass and path. It makes a great first-day-of-school page, free to print. Orange, red and golden yellow leaves give an autumn look, and classic school-bus yellow suits the bus. Fans of Calendar coloring pages often like Activity Sheets and Math Pixel Art as well.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big yellow areas: color the school walls, the bus body, and the bell tower roof in lemon yellow, leaving the door trim and small window frames white.
- 2Fill the tree and bushes with leaf green and bright green, adding a few lighter patches for depth.
- 3Color the school door and the bus door with royal blue and light blue, then add light blue to the bus windows and the round window.
- 4Paint the bus wheels and the bus bumper in slate gray and charcoal, and color the sidewalk and steps in light gray.
- 5Add the kids: give the boy a chestnut brown or dark brown hair, royal blue pants, and red shirt, and the girl a orange ponytail and lavender purple skirt with a pale pink backpack.
- 6Finish with small details: color the apple red, the bell golden yellow, and the backpack pockets sky blue, leaving the highlights white. Optional: add a little darker shading under the bus and the trees to make the scene pop.
