Barbecue Time with Fred and Dino from The Flintstones
Coloring guide
Fred Flintstone is standing behind a small round grill in a tall chef's hat with a patch on top. He scratches his head with a puzzled look and holds a big barbecue fork in the other hand. Dino the pet dinosaur leans in next to him, tongue out and eyes rolled upward, carrying a pie-shaped dish with a scalloped edge. The grill has a crisscross of sticks across the top and rests on a stand of crossed logs tied together with rope. Fred wears his rough-edged caveman outfit with a bow tie, and Dino's big dark spots are on show. The large, open shapes in this free printable are good for kids who like bold outlines. Orange and brown suit Fred's outfit, and a bright purple Dino with black spots would be fun. This fits right in with our The Flintstones coloring pages — see also How to Train Your Dragon and Scooby-Doo.

- 3Color Fred's skin areas (face, arms, hands, feet, and ears) in peach, and fill the hat crown and hat band with medium brown.
- 4Paint the neckerchief and Dino's collar in sky blue, and color the cake in cream, caramel, and medium brown layers.
- 5Shade the grill in light gray, and color the logs under it in medium brown with the charcoal grid in dark brown.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading under the hat, along the tunic folds, and on the logs to give the drawing more depth.
