Bold Leap by Captain America, Fist Ready to Swing

Captain America leaps toward the viewer in this bold line drawing, one fist pulled back and ready to swing while the other arm holds a big round shield out front. He wears a cowl with a letter A on the forehead, small wings at the sides of the head, and eye openings that show a confident smile. The costume has scale-like texture across the shoulders and arms, a belt at the waist, and thick black shapes for shadows. The shield has a star in the center surrounded by several rings. Try coloring the shield in the classic red, white, and blue rings with a silver star, then use a pencil to shade the muscles. It also works well for a lesson on concentric circles and symmetry. Younger kids can stick to the large shield shapes, while older kids can tackle the scale details.
