Perched on a rock, a smiling little octopus in big round glasses is reading an open book, holding it up with two tentacles. Spots and ovals cover its head, and its curly tentacles with tiny suction cups wrap around the rock below. Tall wavy seaweed grows on both sides, small pebbles and tiny plants dot the seabed, and bubbles of different sizes rise around the octopus's head. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the octopus head, arms and all the tentacles with lavender purple, leaving the eye whites and the small suckers on the tentacles white.
- 2Color the open book's cover in bright orange and the spine with golden yellow bands, then add a light cream tint to the pages.
- 3Color the tall seaweed strands with leaf green and lime green, and use forest green and muted olive on the darker strands on the left.
- 4Fill the rock base with sandy tan and the small pebbles at the bottom with light gray, leaving the background white.
- 5Paint the bubbles with sky blue and add deep purple spots on the top of the head, plus a light blush pink tint on one tentacle tip.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker lavender purple along the lower edges of the tentacles and head to make them look rounder.
